Uptown & Humboldt

Uptown & Humboldt, or U&H, are a Denver based restaurant with an award-winning food truck, incorporating their travel-inspired flavors into their dishes.

Our project with the team at U&H focused on creating a new identity and establishing their presence in the youthful, food-loving city of Denver. Their food quality and consistency is one of the key reasons customers continue to return. On the surface, their menu is simple, but each dish is infused with flavors from around the world. The identity we developed showcases their simplicity, attention to detail, and the passion for travel.

The U&H logo is a refined evolution of their original identity. The previous mark felt contained and overworked, locked inside a circle with no room to breathe or adapt. The new system mirrors their menu and mindset: travel-inspired, elevated, and built to move.

As Uptown & Humboldt expanded beyond the food truck into private events, catering, and even cooking aboard yachts in the Mediterranean, they needed a mark that could scale with their ambition. Enter the serif “U / H” with a clean slash; a high-end, flexible signature that feels just as at home on a yacht in Capri as it does on a Denver street corner.

The result bridges worlds: refined enough to attract a new tier of clientele, yet familiar and inviting for someone stopping by for a $14 burger. The monkey remains as a subtle nod to the chef’s favorite animal and their love of travel. A symbol of curiosity, movement, and always looking outward for inspiration.
